Host Global Event To Attract Leaders
Reaching a global audience for the mission of education in agriculture is an ambitious undertaking, but one the International Stockmen's Educational Foundation has successfully managed for more than a decade.
Through its programs and events, the ISEF has attracted world leaders in the beef industry and has developed one of the few forums that allow for the free flow of information between organizations and governments representing the entire supply chain.
These leaders have been able to share global opinions regarding such important issues as food safety, animal care, and management, consumer interest and concerns, as well as the education of future leaders.
What is the International Stockmen’s Educational Foundation?
The International Stockmen’s Education Foundation (ISEF) serves as a catalyst for change in the global livestock industry by providing forums and educational events on critical issues impacting the industry.
The primary role of the ISEF is to host the annual International Livestock Congress (ILC) in the United States. This unique global event attracts key academic and industry thought leaders from across the world to discuss issues of international importance challenging the future of animal agriculture. ILC is held every year on the grounds of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo in Houston, Texas, the world’s largest livestock show.
A unique component of the ILC is the ISEF Student Travel Fellowship Program, which awards agriculture’s best and brightest students from domestic and international agricultural colleges and universities the opportunity to attend ILC.
These students are the future leaders of the beef industry and are selected through a rigorous qualifying process. Students who attend the congress enhance their industry knowledge and meet and interact with industry leaders.
